Never Think

If it hadn't been for Twilight, I would never have found out about Robert Pattinson's musical leanings. The song Never Think was the very first one I heard from this guy and the first verse really hit me so hard I couldn't breathe from sobbing.
As a music-lover, I'm at the stage where the vocals matter more than the lyrics but there songs that just kick you in the gut and you're all done. Never Think is pure and simple a soulful song sung by a guy whose raw (but surprisingly wide-ranged) voice just soared straight into my heart. In my future posts, I'm going to try to dissect more songs that's connected to Robert Pattinson.
This song was a collaboration between good friends Sam Bradley and Robert Pattinson some time before the Twilight movie was filmed. Critics hear some Jeff Buckley influence in the tune. For a guy who admittedly has been obsessed with Van Morrison, I am not surprised.
Lyrics are simple and yet.

Never Think

I should never think
What's in your heart
What's in our home
So I won't

You'll learn to hate me
But still call me baby
Oh love
So call me by my name

And save your soul
Save your soul
Before you're too far gone
Before nothing can be done

I'll try to decide when
She'll lie in the end
I ain't got no fight in me
In this whole damn world
Tell you to hold off
You choose to hold on
It's the one thing that I've known

Once I put my coat on
I'm coming out in this all wrong
She's standing outside holding me
Saying oh please
I'm in love
I'm in love
